Pipeweed is a plant, likely a strain of nicotiana, originally grown and enjoyed much by the Halflings of the Greenhaven. The origins of its cultivation are lost to history but pipe-weed production is a major industry there, especially in the east. Exported pipeweed is enjoyed all over the continent and even as far away as Egypt and Persia.
Properly dried and prepared leaves are shredded and smoked in pipes, usually of clay or wood. It is appreciated primarily for its sweet-scented leaves and the mildly euphoric effect its inhalation produces.
